Often referred to as the ‘Venice of the East’, the city of lakes Udaipur is located around azure water lakes and is hemmed in by lush green hills of Aravallis. The famous Lake Palace, located in the middle of Lake Pichola is one of the most beautiful sights of Udaipur. It is also home to Jaisamand Lake, claimed to be the second largest man-made sweet water lake in Asia. The beautiful City Palace and Sajjangarh (Monsoon Palace) add to the architectural beauty and grandeur of the city. The city is also known for its profusion of zinc and marble. Solar observatory in Lake Fateh Sagar is the only observatory in India located on an island and has been made on the pattern of Big Bear Lake in Southern California. The ten-day Shilpgram Festival which starts from 21 Dec to 30 Dec pulls in a large number of people interested in arts and crafts.
Udaipur was founded in 1553 by Maharana Udai Singh II as the new capital of Mewar Kingdom. It is located in the fertile, circular Girwa Valley to the southwest of Nagda, which was the first capital of Mewar.
Arrival at Udaipur Airport / Railway Station / Bus Stand and transfer to Hotel, check in at Hotel. Later visit the City Palace museum, the Jagdish Temple, Sahelion Ki Bari (Queen’s resort for their friends), Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir (folk art museum) and the Pratap Memorial. Spend the rest of the day at leisure. Cruise through the placid waters of Lake Pichola at sunset. After breakfast, start day trip to Eklingji temples its neighboring cities also have some very beautiful temples. And the Eklingji and Nathdwara temples are a must visit, later visit Kumbhalgarh Fort. In evening return back to Udaipur, visit Shopping Mall Or local market Over Night stay at Hotel. {The Kumbhalgarh fort built in the 15th century AD by Rana Kumbha, is the second most important fort of Rajasthan and is a truly magnificent sight. The charming location of the fort at the foothills of pebbly Aravalli hills increases the overall appeal of the place. The wall of Kumbhalgarh Fort is the second longest continuous wall in the world, after the Great Wall of China, The wall of the fort stretches some 36 km and is situated at a height of 1,914 m. The 586 sq km. Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuaries has a jungle Safari to offer too, a rich variety of wildlife like the panther, sloth bear, wild boar, four-horned antelope and so many wild animals}
After breakfast, free for leisure / personal activities and check out from hotel on time. Later Visit remaing Udaipur local sight seeing, i.e. Fateh Sagar Lake, Nehru Island Park, Sajjangarh Biological Park, Monsoon Palace.
